Driving Time Without Stops: 1 hour, 52 minutes
Take the stunning Pacific Rim Highway west from Port Alberni to Tofino, and enjoy one of the most beautiful drives in BC. For many, this is the best road trip to take in BC. The harbour towns of Port Alberni and Ucluelet are both worth spending time in, so you can stretch your legs before you arrive in the thriving surf town of Tofino. This drive takes roughly two hours, but with stops, you should allow for more time to enjoy this beautiful BC drive.
Driving Time Without Stops: 2 hours, 5 minutes (from Downtown Vancouver)
This is a world-famous highway, expanded for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver as Whistler needed to be reached by more people. Now, the drive is much more enjoyable, though it still contains a few twists and turns. The Sea to Sky is one of the most beautiful drives in BC because of its incredible views of Howe Sound, but also because of the many points you can stop and explore. Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton are all great places to visit.
Driving Time Without Stops: 2 hours, 42 minutes (includes a ferry from Earl’s Cove to Saltery Bay)
Take the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale and hit the open road on one of BC’s most scenic drives. Along the way, you’ll pass through Gibsons and Sechelt, where you can enjoy good food, views of the beach, and some of the friendliest people in BC. The Sunshine Coast route ends at Powell River, where you can visit Palm Beach and Willingdon Beach. Don’t forget to enjoy Ruby Lake near Egmont, it’s a hidden gem.

The passes you encounter through Revelstoke and Golden are breathtaking. You’ll take Roger’s Pass through the Selkirk Mountains, a great place for photo opportunities.

Take Highway 97 north from Osoyoos to Vernon for a drive in BC through lake country – by the way, it actually passes through the town of Lake Country. Passing through wine country in Osoyoos, the channel in Penticton, Lake Okanagan, Summerland, Peachland, Kelowna, and Vernon is a wonderful trip.
